Information regarding the 2025 edition of the WTO Public Forum is yet to become officially available. The same will be updated here once available.

The WTO Public Forum 2024, scheduled from 10 to 13 September at the WTO headquarters in Geneva, focused on the theme “Re-globalization: Better Trade for a Better World”. As the WTO marks its 30th anniversary, the Forum aimed to explore how global trade can be made more inclusive, ensuring that its benefits reach a wider range of people, businesses, and workers. The Forum featured over 600 speakers across 135 sessions, bringing together 4,400 participants from diverse sectors such as civil society, academia, business, government, and international organisations.

The programme included 135 sessions that covered a broad array of topics relevant to the future of trade. A key event was the Launch of the World Trade Report on 10 September, where high-level speakers presented the latest global trade trends. On 11 September, the High-Level Panel on Re-globalization: Trade in a Geopoliticized World, organised by the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE), examined the effects of geopolitical changes on trade.

The Forum also focused on three sub-themes: green policies, which explored how trade can maximise sustainable development; services trade, highlighting how it contributes to economic progress and welfare; and digitalisation, which was discussed as a crucial factor in promoting inclusive trade.

The WTO Public Forum is the World Trade Organization’s largest outreach event, providing a unique platform for stakeholders to engage in dialogue and propose ways to enhance the multilateral trading system while addressing global challenges.
