The World Health Summit is the premier international strategic forum for global health, held annually in Berlin. This summit brings together stakeholders from politics, science, the private sector, and civil society worldwide to shape the future of health. The 2024 World Health Summit is scheduled from October 13-15 in Berlin, Germany, and will also be accessible online under the theme “Building Trust for a Healthier World.” It enjoys the patronage of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

The summit serves as a dynamic platform for advancing global health, promoting collaboration, and fostering open, science-guided dialogue. It emphasizes global health as a central political issue and enriches the debate in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. With a strong focus on a science-driven approach, the summit tackles health issues through interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral efforts that are crucial for setting the global health agenda.

Founded in 2009 on the 300th anniversary of Berlin’s Charité Hospital, the World Health Summit operates under the patronage of notable global leaders and is anchored by the academic contributions of the M8 Alliance of Academic Health Centers, Universities, and National Academies of Medicine and Sciences. This network includes leading academic institutions from around the world and organizes additional annual Regional and Expert Meetings globally, enhancing its impact and outreach.
