The Global Government Summit is an annual gathering of senior public servants worldwide, focusing on the challenges and innovations within government sectors. Organised by the Global Government Forum and hosted by the Government of Singapore, the 2025 Summit is scheduled for 21 and 22 January in Singapore.

The 2025 Summit will address several key themes. The opening session will analyse the current geopolitical landscape, focusing on issues such as political and social unrest, populism, global conflicts, inflation, and misinformation. Discussions will explore how governments can effectively implement artificial intelligence technologies, including strategies for creating an enabling environment for innovation and establishing regulatory frameworks. The Summit will focus on improving cooperation across various levels of government to deliver better services to citizens, with an emphasis on data sharing and balancing centralisation and decentralisation. Sessions will address the importance of strong leadership in building an engaged and effective public service, sharing best practices from around the world. The final theme will examine how governments can build and maintain trust with citizens, particularly in the context of recent global crises.

The Summit’s format encourages open dialogue under the Chatham House Rule, allowing participants to share experiences and solutions candidly. Reports are produced after each event to disseminate key messages while maintaining confidentiality. By fostering international cooperation and innovation in public service, the Global Government Summit aims to equip civil service leaders with the insights and tools needed to navigate the complexities of modern governance.
