The ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025 will take place from 15 to 17 April at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This annual gathering provides young people with a platform to engage directly with UN Member States, policymakers, and global stakeholders. The forum is designed to amplify youth voices and empower the next generation to contribute to policies and decisions that shape a fairer, greener, and more sustainable future. By bringing together young leaders from around the world, the event fosters dialogue, collaboration, and concrete action aligned with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The theme for the 2025 forum, “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for leaving no one behind,” sets the stage for discussions on some of the most pressing global issues. The forum will focus on five SDGs that are under review at the 2025 High-Level Political Forum: good health and well-being, gender equality, decent work and economic growth, life below water, and partnerships for the goals. These discussions will explore strategies to accelerate progress toward these goals while ensuring that no one is left behind.

Organised by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) in collaboration with the UN Youth Office and the United Nations Inter-Agency Network on Youth Development, the forum is convened by the President of ECOSOC. It is co-convened by the Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY) and the International Coordination Meeting of Youth Organizations (ICMYO), with contributions from youth-led organisations working on global sustainability challenges. This broad coalition ensures that diverse voices and perspectives are reflected in the forum’s discussions and outcomes.

Over three days, the event will feature plenary sessions, interactive thematic discussions, and regional breakout dialogues, allowing young people to exchange ideas, propose solutions, and engage with decision-makers on advancing the 2030 Agenda. Discussions will also connect to major intergovernmental processes such as the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development and the Second World Summit for Social Development. Participants will have opportunities to interact with government representatives, youth delegates, and experts from civil society and the private sector, ensuring that youth concerns are integrated into policy discussions at the highest levels.
