Key participants include Engagement Groups (EGs) that comprise approximately 1,200 business leaders and experts who play a crucial role in bridging the gap between G20 governments and the business community. These groups advocate for influential public policies and foster dialogue on economic, climate, and development challenges within urban settings. Moreover, the EGs contribute to global discussions on legal matters, parliamentary cooperation, and the integration of civil society’s insights into the summit’s discourse.
In addition to these groups, the summit’s structure includes the Sherpa Track and the Finance Track. The Sherpa Track, led by Ambassador Mauricio Lyrio, oversees the strategic preparations and coordination of the summit’s agenda. The Finance Track, directed by Tatiana Rosito, delves into critical economic issues, focusing on international financial stability, infrastructure financing, and sustainable finance. This track is instrumental in promoting financial inclusion and addressing global economic disparities. A notable addition this year is the Ocean Engagement Group, which highlights the importance of marine sustainability and the responsible utilization of ocean resources, aligning with Brazil’s emphasis on environmental conservation.
As the summit approaches, these groups will continue to refine their discussions, ensuring that the G20’s strategies are well-aligned with the contemporary global challenges. This event promises to be a significant platform for shaping the future of international economic and environmental policies.
